Ten Korean photographers became viewers of the world. And they brought the phenomena of the world into the frame. Photographs exist at the scene of the incident and capture the moment at the same time. The moment does not just mean the artist's perspective, but also captures the concepts of invisible hearing, smell, touch, and abstraction of space that occur in the field. The viewer is trapped in reality within a single frame, finds existence in an instant, locks up memories of the past through photos, and experiences future hope or despair. And photographers want to give them time to look at the visual information of Photo and to sensitively search for auditory elements beyond the visual and add imagination.

There are fears about the future that cannot be predicted even with the accumulated experience of being affected by rapid climate change, such as frequent torrential rains, rising typhoon intensity, and bizarre droughts and wildfires around the world. This fear
naturally made me interested in seeds. As a child, I did not doubt the existence of seeds by receiving them and sowing them the following year. However, I felt alarm that the future of life held by seeds could disappear due to extreme climate change. So this photowork started. For the physical cooling of snow, the season of winter was chosen, and the present state was captured with meaning in the location of Svalbard,Norway, where the seed storage is located, and the Arctic of Iceland.

The place where she lives is a beach where many migratory birds pass by. She goes out to the places where birds stay every day and takes pictures. The birds in the photo are very small and rest for several days in a remote place untouched by humans before moving to another habitat. The beaches where birds stay are often colored with unique beauty.

Avatar II #135_Kim KyungSoo 2023
My avatar in the form of a woman gave me a new experience that I couldn't experience in the real world. Through this experience, I was able to become aware of a different way of seeing the world. Also, I got to know more about myself that I didn't know before, and I was born again as a more evolved being. The ‘another me’ that exists inside me was able to reveal itself to the world and communicate with myself through the camera. However, my inner femininity, my ideal woman, and the emotional confusion between them were still left as my task.

The structure of Korean culture and civilization development is based on destruction and new creation. Objects and buildings are created over a long period of time on a historical level. Newly built buildings interrupt the flow of time and stop memory because they are beneficial to humans. Memories are precious experiences, not abstractions.

The photographer captured the scent and wind of spring in the photo. Green barley was a symbol of the hungry history of Koreans, but now green barley is used as feed for cattle. However, the beauty of green barley swaying in the wind will remember our hunger.
