On 02 December 2025 the FIAP Exhibition Centre Dublin presented its final item in the FEC programme for 2025. It was a digital presentation by Alex Gjika who joined our members in our clubhouse and those at home via Zoom. We had a large number present and all enjoyed Alex’s wonderful and inspiring images.
The following are Alex’s words describing who he is and his images: Photography caught me by surprise almost 20 years ago. I was visiting a photography exhibition when I suddenly felt there was something incredibly appealing to me in those pictures. It did not take long for photography to dominate my life! I bought my first DSLR, joined a club, started entering competitions and soon my work was well received which very encouraging.
Fast forward to now I still do not seem to get enough of photography. I take a lot of pictures, take part in all kinds of competitions, do photography lectures, a lot of photography judging etc. I engage in all kinds of photography such as people, nature, architecture, monochrome etc. but photographing ‘scapes during “bad weather” seem to appeal to me the most. Looking for pictures is the most thrilling “treasure hunt” experience, so I shall be carrying on!
