Creative Union «Photographic Art Association of Transcarpathia» within the framework of the project of The Carpathian FIAP Exhibition center «Golden collection of the world photo postcards» has opened on the 6th of July in Chynadiiovo Castle «Saint Nicholas» the exhibition of Oleksandr KOVSHUN (EFIAP/S) «The Road in the Mountains». His photographs have been awarded medals and honorary diplomas from the international photographic associations FIAP, PSA, ISA, and the National Union of Photographic Artists of Ukraine more than 50 times. Now the photo exhibition of the titled Ukrainian photo artist was presented in the «Gallery of one picture».
The author of the presented photo Oleksandr KOVSHUN (Ukraine) provided brief information about the work presented in the exhibition: «Thephoto «Road in the Mountains» was taken during a trip to one of the highestpeaks of the Ukrainian Carpathians, with a height of 2028.5 m – Pip Ivan(Chornogora) in 2016. During the hike, on the Radul meadow, we – members ofthe Chas photo club from the city of Rivne – were caught in a heavy downpour, and at the moment of a brief stoppage of rain, when the evening sun’s rayspeeked out from behind the clouds, this photo was taken. The «assistant»photographers – local residents from the village of Shybene, who agreed toguide us along the non-tourist trails of the route to Pip Ivan mountain, got intothe frame. This is a father, son and their dog.
The photo is a pleasant reminder of the life of Ukrainians in the happypre-war years (before the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine).
To understand, the downpour was so heavy that the camera refused towork from the humidity. Namely: after this evening shoot, I had to spend halfthe next day drying the camera in the sun. But the photo I managed to take putthe sadness about the technical problems into some kind of third plan... » The exhibition will last till July 12th, 2025.
