TWO OPENINGS DEDICATED TO THE HUNGARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY DAY

The “Matei Stegerean” Gallery of the EFA Exhibition Center in the Princely Palace of the Medieval Fortress of Oradea (Building E, ground floor) hosted, on the very Day of Hungarian Photography, the opening of two international photographic art exhibitions dedicated to this event. The exhibitions are organized by the “Euro Foto Art” International Association of Oradea (AIEFA) together with Summit Agro Romania and the Association of Photoclubs of Hungary (MAFOSZ), under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), recognized by UNESCO, in the FIAP Exhibition Center Oradea – Romania. The event was attended by members of the two Photographic Organizations from Romania: Homorod, Oradea, and Marghita, as well as from Budapest, Debrecen, and Szolnok (HU). The audience present at the ceremony was greeted by photographic artist ȘtefanTóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, president of AIEFA and curator of the exhibitions, who presented the context in which the international photographic art exhibitions are organized. Next, representing Dr. Eng. Patricia Maria Știrbu, president of Summit Agro Romania, Dr. Eng. Dorin Popa, president of the Association for the Culture and Civilization of Wine “Millesime” Oradea, emphasized in his speech the important role that photographic art plays in visual communication between people. Media specialist Stanik Istvan, technical director of Magyar Házak Hálózat (Hungarian Houses Network), director of the “Partium” House in Debrecen (HU) and vice-president of Kárpát-medencei Magyar FotográfiaiTársaság (Hungarian Photographic Society of the Carpathian Basin – KMFT), after delivering the greeting message of Dr. Szabó Pál Csaba, president of the “Kárpát-medence Intézet” (Carpathian Basin Institute) based in Szeged (HU), appreciated the initiative of organizing this Exhibition precisely on the Day of Hungarian Photography, which presents the creations from the past year of Hungarian photographers from the Carpathian Basin. At the conclusion of the first opening, the president of AIEFA and vice-president of KMFT presented awards to Fórián Andrea from Oradea and Hátszegi Csaba from Homorod (RO), as well as the “Carol Pop de Szathmári – Szathmári Pap Károly” plaque to photographic artist Tímár Zoltán from Marghita (RO). The KMFT members’ exhibition includes 93 photographs by artists from Serbia, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine, and Hungary. All works can be viewed on the AIEFA website: https://eurofotoart.ro/expozitia-anuala-a-membrilor-kmft/ The musical moments of the openings were offered by viola artist Thurzó Sándor József, representative of the Sola Fide Community and Cultural Association (SFKKE), who performed several pieces from the Hungarian repertoire: “Evening in Székely Land” by Bartók Béla, “Menuetto” by Macalik Alfréd, “Slovak Dance” by Bartók Béla, “Aroso” and “Fugato” by Eszlári Erzsébet, and Piece, Op. 64, No. 1 by Popper Dávid(arranged for solo viola by the performer). The exhibited photographs will also be displayed on the screens inside modern public transportation vehicles in the municipality of Oradea, thanks to the agreement between AIEFA and OTL SA. The exhibition will remain open to the visiting public until October 6, 2024, on Mondays and Wednesdays between 14:00–18:00, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 10:00–14:00. Public access to both galleries is free of charge.
