OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM BUDAPEST (HU)
On Friday, April 18, 2025, took place the opening of the exhibition of the Hungarian Photographic Society / Magyar Fotográfiai Egyesület (MFE), headquartered in a picturesque location of Hungary’s capital on the banks of the Danube (Belgrád rakpart). MFE, one of the oldest photographic clubs in Europe, has been active without interruption in the heart of Budapest since 1899, making it one of the most influential organizations on Hungary’s amateur photographic scene. MFE is also one of the most active partner organizations of AIEFA. On this occasion, the FIAP Exhibition Center in Oradea – Romania hosted a representative collection of 73 photographs, accepted and awarded at various national and international art photography salons, created by: Both Balázs, Boromissza Ferencz, FüzérGábor, Horváth László, Köszegi Gábor, Mészáros Ödön, Sopronfalvi Ildikó, Tihanyi Károly, and VarróSzilvia, encompassing the majority of photographic art genres. All the exhibited images can be viewed on the AIEFA website:https://eurofotoart.ro/expozitia-membrilor-magyar-fotografiai-egyesulet-budapesta-hu/ The opening took place in the presence of photographers, members of the Hungarian Photographic Society (Magyar Fotográfiai Egyesület, Budapest – HU): Füzér Gábor, László Alexa, Mészáros Ödön, Tihanyi Károly, and Varró Szilvia (President of the Society). The attending audience was greeted by photographer Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, President of AIEFA and Manager of the FIAP Exhibition Center Oradea – Romania, who emphasized that this year marks 25 years of collaboration between the photographers of MFE and those of Oradea (RO). The President of MFE, photographer Varró Szilvia, expressed gratitude for the outstanding conditions provided for the exhibitions of Budapest photographers (HU) in Oradea (RO). At the conclusion, the President of AIEFA and Manager of the FIAP Exhibition Center Oradea – Romania handed over to the President of MFE the FIAP Auspices Certificate and the AIEFA patronage. The musical moments of the opening were offered by the renowned viola artist from Oradea, Thurzó Sándor József, representative of the Sola Fide Community and Cultural Association (SFKKE), who performed several pieces from the Hungarian, Serbian, and Romanian repertoire. The exhibition will remain open to the public until May 3, 2025. The displayed works will also be projected on screens inside the public transportation vehicles of the city of Oradea, thanks to the protocol concluded between AIEFA and OTL SA.
