OPENING OF THE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION BY PAUL BOCK (USA)
On Wednesday, at the new premises of the Oradea City Museum section, the opening took place for a remarkable photographic art exhibition organized by the International Association “Euro Foto Art” (AIEFA), in partnership with the “Țării Crișurilor” Museum and the official partner Summit Agro Romania, a company belonging to the Japanese corporation “Sumitomo,” a supporter of both agriculture and the arts. The exhibition, held under the patronage of AIEFA and the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (recognized by UNESCO), presented a selection of 50 fine art photographs by the renowned Oradea-born photographer Paul Bock from California (USA), captured during a journey to India in 2022. The images can also be viewed on the International Association’s website: https://eurofotoart.ro/expo-paul-bock-usa/. The audience present at the event was welcomed by museum representative Dr. Cristina Pușcaș, who, after expressing her appreciation for the initiative of holding this exhibition within the framework of the Saint Ladislaus Days, introduced the photographer from the USA. Photographer artist Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, President of AIEFA, emphasized in his speech that the exhibition arrived in Oradea after having been inaugurated last year in the presence of the author at the Palace of the Parliament of Romania, as part of the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and India; it was later presented at the FIAP Exhibition Center in Uzhhorod, Ukraine, housed in the medieval fortress of that beautiful city, and earlier this month at the National Museum of History of Moldova in Chișinău (Republic of Moldova).“The exhibition is a cultural bridge between three continents - namely, the USA, where the exhibiting photographer lives; Europe, the place where it is being presented; and a remarkable country situated in Asia, which it depicts,” noted the Oradea-born photographer. In conclusion, Saint Ladislaus Festival manager Zatykó Gyula expressed his gratitude for AIEFA’s presence at this year’s festival with two photographic art exhibitions of the highest artistic caliber, and for the excellent collaboration with the association. The exhibition, installed on the walls of the “Mezey Lajos” Gallery, EFA Exhibition Center of the Oradea City Museum section (part of the “Țării Crișurilor” Museum), was accompanied by musical moments provided by the distinguished Oradea violist Thurzó Sándor József, who performed several works from the Indian repertoire: Poor Heart by A.R. Rahman, The Fire in the City of Poroshmoni by R. Tagore, Still Want You by Mithoon, and Sare Jahan Se Acha by Suhale Mazoor. The opening will be streamed online via the Association’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/EuroFotoArtAssociation. The exhibition, organized within the cultural events of the Saint Ladislaus Days, will remain open to the public at the Oradea City Museum section until July 25, 2024, Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The displayed works will also be projected on screens in Oradea’s public transport vehicles, thanks to the protocol signed between AIEFA and OTL SA.
