Inauguration of the FIAP Exhibition Center “Photographic Association @FOTO La Palma” in Breña Alta, La Palma, Canary islands.
On October 16, 2025, the FIAP Exhibition Center “Photographic Association @FOTO La Palma” in Breña Alta, La Palma, Canary islands, was inaugurated. With this center, Spain becomes the country with the largest number of Exhibition Centers in the world, totaling seven.
The inauguration in Breña Alta, La Palma was attended by:

The inauguration of the FIAP Exhibition Center took place in the La Palma CigarMuseum in Breña Alta, La Palma, Canary islands.
For this inauguration, entitled "The Strength of Man and Nature," the followingphotographic collections were selected:
• The strength of man in Transvulcania: a small collection of photos from the toughmountain ultramarathon.
• The strength of a volcano: photos of the Tajogaite volcano from 2021.
• The strength of an island's beauty: wonderful landscapes of a volcanic island.
• A varied and eclectic collection of photos from different countries for a virtual exhibition.
Mr. Jonathan de Felipe, Mayor of Breña Alta, opens the event with words of thanks tothe representatives of FIAP, CEF, FFC and @FOTO.
The following then spoke: Mr. Borja Pérez, Mayor of Breña Baja; and Ms. Raquel Rebollo, Councilor of the Island Council.
Next, Mr. Tomás Vento, Director of the newly inaugurated Centro Expósito, took thefloor to thank for the trust placed in his work to carry forward this Exhibition Center.
Mr. Jesús Manuel García continues as FIAP Liaison Officer in Spain.

And finally, Mr. Riccardo Busi, president of FIAP, addressed us in Spanish.
The ceremony concluded with the traditional ribbon-cutting.
Followed by a view of the plaque designating the FIAP Exhibition Center. Afterwards, we admired the virtual exhibition and, of course, the physical exhibition "The Strength ofMan and Nature."
After the ceremony, all attendees enjoyed a cocktail, courtesy of the Breña Alta Council, where the main topic of conversation was photography.
Attendees enjoyed four days of the 39th CEF Congress on the island of La Palma, withguided tours of the cities of Santa Cruz de La Palma and Los Llanos de Aridane, including its "city in museum" open-air museum located on the facades of the town'sbuildings. They also enjoyed lunch at the Tajogaite volcano's lava flows (the youngestland in Spain), which formed in 2021. The event concluded with an awards gala whereMr. Riccardo Busi was named CEF Ambassador.
We thank Mr. Riccardo Busi, president of FIAP, and the other members of the FIAP board for joining us at the inauguration of this Exhibition Center. This is the first time that members of the FIAP board have visited the island canary of La Palma, and thisevent will be recorded in the island's photographic history.
