THE NECROPOLIS OF OBLIVION
The collection of photographs entitled "The Necropolis of Oblivion" is composed of 40 black and white works whose theme is the deterioration caused by the passage of time in religious figures found on tombstones in cemeteries.
The photographs, for the most part, were taken using the traditional black and white technique. The use of this method is a highly valued art. Through the use of shadows, it conveys a great deal of emotion to the image in question. It creates a sense of antiquity and, at the same time, a subtle touch of nostalgia.
I have attempted to photograph these figures, seeking a perspective and framing that highlight their attractiveness, their details, and their profound religious and cultural significance. Their main characteristics are harmony, balance, and serenity.
I try to transform the coldness of these small statuettes made of stone, metal, plastic, or marble through my photographs into something beautiful to behold, without drama.
The idea for this exhibition came from the times I've wandered through the cemetery, visiting and looking for relatives, and I wondered about the meaning of the designs carved on the tombstones.
I want to emphasize that all the work is done with love and respect.

The exhibition's author began his career in the world of photography about 15 years ago, always as an amateur, dedicated to enjoying the art of photography, as his working life encompassed other types of professional activities.
He is currently the president of the Miradas de Ceuta Photography Association, where for the past nine years he has served as secretary and exhibition manager for the same association.
He is a member of the Spanish Confederation of Photography (CEF), responsible for the Photo Library.
He is a member of the judging panel of the Spanish Confederation of Photography (CEF) and the Andalusian Federation of Photography (FAF).
It has been in recent years, after his retirement, that his dedication to photography has taken up more space in his daily life.
He has given courses to users of the Temporary Stay Center for Immigrants (CETI) and to users of the PROI Association, a group of young people with cerebral palsy and/or severe motor disabilities, using cameras adapted to their disabilities.
LA NECRÓPOLIS DEL OLVIDO
El conjunto de fotografías titulado “La Necrópolis del olvido” está compuesto por 40 obras en blanco y negro cuya temática es el deterioro ocasionado por el paso del tiempo en las figuras religiosas, que se encuentran en las lapidas de los cementerios.
Las fotografías, en su mayoría, han sido realizadas mediante la técnica del blanco y negro tradicional. La utilización de este método es un arte muy valorado. Transmite, a través del uso de sombras, mucha emotividad a la imagen en cuestión. Crea la sensación de antigüedad y, a su vez, un toque sutil de nostalgia.
Se ha tratado de fotografiar estas figuras buscando un punto de vista, y unos encuadres, que resalten su atractivo, sus detalles y su profundo significado religioso y cultural. Con sus características principales de armonía, equilibrio y serenidad.
La frialdad de estas pequeñas estatuillas de piedra, metal, plástico o de mármol, trato de convertirlas a través de mis fotografías en algo bello de contemplar y sin drama.
La idea de esta exposición viene de las veces que he deambulado por el cementerio visitando y buscando a familiares, y me preguntaba sobre el significado de los diseños tallados en las lapidas.
Quiero resaltar que todo el trabajo está realizado desde el cariño y el respeto.

La andadura del autor de la exposición en el mundo de la fotografía comenzó hace unos 15 años, siempre como aficionado, y dedicado al disfrute del arte de la fotografía, puesto que su vida laboral se correspondía a otro tipo de actividad profesional.
Actualmente es el presidente de la Asociación Fotográfica Miradas de Ceuta, donde en los últimos 9 años ha sido secretario y responsable de exposiciones de la misma Asociación.
Es miembro de la Confederación Española de Fotografía (CEF), como responsable en el área de Fototeca.
Pertenece al equipo de jurado de la Confederación Española de Fotografía (CEF) y de la Federación Andaluza de Fotografía (FAF).
Ha sido en lo últimos años después de la jubilación, cuando la dedicación a la fotografía ha ocupado más espacio en su vida diaria.
Ha dado cursos a los usuarios del Centro de estancia temporal de Inmigrantes (CETI) y a Usuarios de la Asociación PROI, un grupo de jóvenes con parálisis cerebral y/o grave discapacidad Motriz con cámaras adaptadas a su discapacidad.
