The Yellow River is China’s mother river, the birthplace of Chinese civilization and the cradle of the Chinese nation. Flowing eastward from its source, it passes through nine provinces (regions) before reaching the sea at the Yellow River Delta in Shandong.
The Nile is Egypt’s mother river, the longest river in the world. Originating in southern Africa, it flows northward through nine countries before entering the sea at the Nile Delta in Egypt.
Although both mother rivers ultimately flow into the sea, they have never converged over the course of thousands of years. Today, we symbolically bring these two great rivers together in a visual embrace by hosting *“The Dialogue of Civilizations between the Yellow River and the Nile — A Photography Art Exhibition of the Mother Rivers through the Eyes of World Photographers.”* Through images, we share with the world their centuries-old vicissitudes and moving stories.
