FLORA BOTANICALS

Although, as a little girl I had always been attracted to flowers, my interest in photographing them came much later in life. I was using a small “point and shoot” camera to capture flower images to paint in watercolours at a later date. My father had always been keen on photography and suggested I borrow his SLR. Accepting his offer, I also got myself a macro lens. This opened up a wonderful new world, showing me aspects of plants, I had not previously been aware of. I came to appreciate all flora and even the dead leaves which had their own form and beauty.

I photograph all genres of photography but my favorite is still “flora”. I make images that I enjoy. For me, photography is a means of capturing a moment of observation and presenting it for others to enjoy as well.
