THE SECOND BENIN PHOTOGRAPHY TRIP BY SILLE SANAT SARAYI
The 2nd Benin Photography Trip, organized in collaboration between Sille Sanat Sarayı andthe ANAPHAB Photography Academy, was successfully held from November 19–25.Registered under the official number 2025/045 FIAP Auspices, the event brought togetherphotography artists from different countries to experience the unique culture of Africa. With a total of 10 participants—7 from Turkey, 1 from Luxembourg, and 2 from India—the tripoffered an unforgettable experience through its vibrant program and rich content.
Highlights of the Journey
Throughout the trip, photography sessions were held in local villages to capture the naturalrhythm of daily life. Highlights included:
• Ganvie: A visit to Africa’s famous "floating village" to document traces of traditionallife.
• Ouidah: A visit to the Python Temple in the sacred city of Ouidah, providingopportunities to photograph both cultural and ritual atmospheres.
• Zè Village: An audience with the local King, offering a significant experience in understanding the regional culture.
• Vodoun Dance: Participants captured striking scenes of traditional Vodoun dances.
• Amazon Statue: A visit to one of the country’s most iconic landmarks.
A Productive Cultural Exchange
During the seven-day journey across Benin, thousands of frames captured the fascinatingcolors, lifestyles, and cultural heritage of Africa. The participants concluded the trip withgreat satisfaction, having found it highly productive in terms of both photographic output andcultural immersion.
