In this event organized by the İFSAK International Relations Unit, we will host Dutch visual artist Koenraad Marinus Van Lier, who has been living and working in Burgazada for the past ten years. Wewill explore the island's story spanning ten years through his new photo book, “Burgazada: Ten Years of Photographs from the Island.”
The book, consisting of 120 photographs in total, one for each month, was created entirely independently, without any publisher or sponsor support, and through the encouragement of his social media followers. Van Lier's photographs reflect the island's rhythms of life, its nature, and the passage of time with a meditative and serene perspective. “Burgazada taught me to slow down, to observe, and to let momentsreveal themselves,” says the artist, for whom this book is a personal tribute to the island, told morethrough images than words.

We invited all our members, photography and art lovers to IFSAK. There was a great deal of interest in this event. Many of those who came bought books and had them signed by the artist.
